Autism Assistance Dogs

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a mental condition involving complex disorders of brain development. This disorder is typically characterized by repetitive behaviors, obsessive interests, wandering behaviors, difficulties in social interaction and communication, and verbal and non verbal communication.

Our Autism Assistance dogs perform behavior interruption, to distract and interrupt repetitive behaviors or ‘meltdowns’. They are trained to remain close to prevent and protect a child from wandering, and search and rescue trailing to locate a child who has gone missing. This dog has advanced obedience training and has been socialized to different environments of animals and people at an early age.
